Andre Szykier is a founding and managing partner of MAPS Capital Management and it's subsidiary Business Ingenuity LLC., He has over 25 years of broad scientific work in diverse fields: space exploration with the
Mars Viking Lander, Venus Mariner flyby and Apollo XI-XIV moon missions; the SuperCollider project at Lawrence Labs; proteomics research; fractal data compression; and secure database architectures. As a researcher at the Bell Labs he worked in the area of encrypted signal processing, and in 1982 joined
the AT&Ttask force that determined the breaking apart of the Bell system .Afterwards he formed Elan Vital Research, whose clients ranged from American Express, Chase Manhattan, General Motors, Toyota, Bank of America, Lawrence Labs, NSA.
One of his companies, Enigma Systems, a security and encryption firm, was acquired by Walker Associates. A great idea in fractal mathematics led him to founding Query Objects that went public on NASDAQ, later acquired by an Italian telecom.He also started Global Network Privacy, a service provider for ultra-secure hosting and e-commerce based in Henderson Nevada. Later, as CEO of Proqueome, Andre built an advanced grid computing infrastructure for distributed storage and collaboration in bioscience. He was also the managing director of Hunano, a joint venture with Israeli company Privacy Inside, focused on nano cryptography.
Andre has taken the role of CTO/CIO at a number of companies: Cybelius of Finland, providing virtual rapid 3D prototyping software; Netgami, delivering a secure, authenticated cross device content framework for mobile wireless; Virtual Enterprise Solutions, software managing multi-tier manufacturing and mobile workforces; Sitoa, peer to peer EDI messaging services; Pax Scientific, advanced propulsion technology for fluid dynamics;and Ibiquiti a Global Ventures and Investment group; GeoG2, providing high resolution aerial imagery; Copacast, an analytic edge network for E-commerce; and CIO for Chava Energy in the advanced energy arena. Currently, he serves as CEO of Gridplex Networks in Smart Grid Energy Management and works with the Clinton Global Initiative.
Andre has been an active advisory and board member in various companies including Cross/Z International, QueryObjects, GNP, Virtual Enterprise Solutions, Proqueome, HunanoTech, 3Dfit and Netgami.
He consults with federal government security agencies and security experts overseas on pattern recognition using satellite imaging, secure encryption for financial applications in the EU; military IFF wireless
and RFID; IP and Telco network intrusion; financial Sarbanes- Oxley Act and medical HIPPA Act compliance. He received degrees B.S. in econometrics and M.S. in applied mathematics.
His main focus at MAPS is in renewable energy, water remediation and medical diagnostics as well as acting Chief Scientist at Clear Pleak Holdings in behavioral psychology for the gambling industry.
