Slim Chandra Shekar is a general partner of MAPS Capital Management.
Mr. Shekar has expertise in venture management, corporate development, governance and relationship management as well as extensive contacts in the technology and finance communities.
He was General Partner in Viventures II, a $650 million telecom and technology fund.
Prior to that, as Managing Director of the Tech Ventures Group at Bechtel Enterprises, Slim was responsible for venture investments in Internet based technologies related to Bechtel's core businesses. Mr. Shekar was also responsible for creating a telecom development and investment company sponsored by Bechtel Enterprises, and
Incepta Group LLC.His responsibilities included development of the preliminary business plan and strategy,
identifying the CEO and management team, and representing Bechtel's interests.In this role he led a blue chip investors group in a $75 million equity financing round in
Star One AG, a German broadband access and service provider.
For more than 15 years he served in senior leadership positions in the management consulting sector.He was Managing Director, Central European consulting division of
Arthur D. Little and head of the firm's Strategy & Technology Management practice.At SRI International, he was an officer and Vice President in the management and technology consulting division.His early career was with
Siemens AG in International Operations and in the Hydro Power Division.
More recent, Mr. Shekar was CEO of Netgami, a gamechanging ad hoc discovery platform for mobile services.
He also served as founder and SVP of Strategic Partnerships at Pax Scientific, working with business partners such as
Delco, Carollo Engineering as well as investments from Khosla Ventures. Slim is based in San Francisco Bay Area California and on the Big Island Hawaii.
Slim speaks fluent German, Hindi and Tamil. He is also an accomplished media publisher with his successful music CD - Music of Gayatri
